The Power of Volunteering

Volunteer work plays an important role in improving a community and is easy to do. Projects can be small or large - as long as they make an impact. In fact, volunteering is often a hobby for some. This is true for fellow student and friend Audrey Lips. Audrey, who grew up heavily involved in girl scouts, understands the value of volunteering and took some time to answer a few of my questions.

Dropoly: Reduce your impact and play a game!

What if saving money, reducing energy consumption, and making a positive impact was a fun game you could play? The folks at the start-up company entitled Dropoly have made this a reality for everyone. They have created a gaming type program that assists the users in lowering their water and energy usage. This program aimed at families, schools and other organizations is four years in development and is starting to take off. I had the opportunity to discuss this revolutionary concept with one of the company’s founders and Chief Scientist, Dr. Kevin Hallinan.
